A review of The Flames of Time by Jan Dilgren Benet, as written to Linda:

(Performance of Friday, March 12th)

We sure did enjoy the performance last night.  It was a great show and a very enjoyable evening.  The program was very well put together, and the food was fine too.

I loved the way the power in each song increased as the program progressed.  At first, I was thinking that Patsy's songs wouldn't allow you the full range of your capabilities or the quality that I know in your voice and how you use it.  My friend Dovie was impressed from the beginning, but I told her just wait until you hear more of Linda's voice, which came through in the more dramatic selections later in the program.

The audience was with you and Patsy by the time you reached "She's Got You", and totally warmed up with Hank Wiliams' "I Can't Help It...."   and then "I Fall to Pieces"  melted us.   Blue Moon of Kentucky lightened us up, and by then we were on a roller coaster.

Crazy and Sweet Dreams were the best, and showed more of you.   But Unchained Melody was a very good reprise, even if not one of Patsy's songs, it was the only song that I can think of that would have topped the overall crescendo of the whole show.  Dovie said to me "Aren't you proud she's your friend?"  And I said "Absolutely".

The whole evening was great entertainment.
